Our Sashiko Rakurokubukuro (Hexagon Bag) bag is made from a pattern by another Australian designer, Leesa Chandler, from Chandler's Cottage - http://www.chandlerscottage.com

• The bag is a hexagon - its base is an 8" hexagon and the bag stands 7" tall when finished.
• There are 6 sides to the bag; 3 with sashiko panels and 3 with embroidered pockets.
• The embroidery designs are traditional Japanese sashiko designs - a mon (Japanese crest) on the pockets, and a combination of two sashiko designs on the side panels - yosegi (parquetry) and akare kikko (tortoiseshell).
• The designs can be sewn in the 5x7" hoop.
  
• The designs are continuous line designs sewn with #12 Aurifil cotton thread, in Soft Ivory, color #2021.
• You will need to use a top-stitch needle, preferably 100/16 and slow your machine down.
• The bag is really easy to make, but, be warned, you will not be able to stop at making just one bag.
• You will be able to download the designs as soon as you complete the purchase, and there are instructions for creating the embroidered panels.
• We will post Leesa's Pocket Sewing Caddy bag pattern to you, where ever you are in the world. It is extremely well-written and very easy to follow.
